Yippee! Cancer Free - 8.1.12

This past week I had the pleasure of working on some fun d├ęcor pieces for Miss. Sarah Ikenberry. I had planned her High School Gaduation party back in May, and when her mom contacted me about her next special occasion I could not have been more excited to help out! This past Wednesday on August 1st Sarah celebrated her 1 Year Anniversary of being cancer free. Yay! They had already planned a party at a local park where they were going to do the floating lanterns (yes, just like in Tangled!), but her mom wanted to surprise her when she woke up Wednesday morning with the home decorated with a banner and some other fun items. So that is where I came in! I was so excited to work on this for her and as soon as her mom asked me to do this project I knew exactly what I was going to do. It was a style that I have been itching to do for so long now, but was waiting for the right occasion. It is a fun and cheerful design, so I felt like this was the perfect opportunity to use it! Below are just some of the details of this special celebration for Sarah!

You Are My Sunshine - 6.30.12

My first blog post! I decided to start a blog to share more about the projects I am working on. I decided to do my first post on my beautiful cousin, Krista! She is expecting her second child at the end of the month, so I was delighted when I was asked to co-host her baby shower. It was so much fun to work on and coming up with the design details and seeing it come into fruition. It made it even more fun with it being a couple's shower and having the men experience the joy's of baby shower games!:) To keep everything budget friendly, I decided to make EVERYTHING from the vases to the table runners. Give a girl a glue gun, spray paint, and paper and you have your self simply made decor pieces! The theme was "You Are My Sunshine" for her baby boy, Graham Michael Thomas Matlock. We carried the lyrics to the song throughout the shower, including the invitations. I think my favorite (and yummiest!) part of the shower was Graham's Signature Treat, which were homemade Graham Cracker Chocolate Chip Muffins (Thanks Mom!). I am so excited for Graham's arrival and had a blast celebrating him! Here are some pitures I snapped of the details from the shower...
